Finding peace in one’s life is essential. God gives peace that helps us through the ups and downs of life. We can talk to Him and He completely understands what we are going through because He has been there. So, if you haven’t already made the decision to trust Him, here is a reminder of what He did for you and what you must do to find true peace, rest, and renewal.
God designed heaven and earth to be a perfect creation for all to enjoy. He hung the stars and the moon to be our night lights and set the sun the exact distance needed from earth to warm us without burning us up. Each tide that comes in is guided by the Creator. He carved out valleys and formed mountains with His mighty hand and made all living creatures for us to learn about and enjoy. Finally, He created man, in His own image, to bless, multiply, and replenish the earth.
We may think “I’m a good, moral person” or “I’m better than this person.” We can be kind to others and do good deeds, but these commendable traits are not enough to get into Heaven. The problem is, we must be perfect to get into Heaven. We cannot pay our way into Heaven and we cannot “save ourselves”. No matter what we do or how much we have, no one is perfect. We are all sinners.
Jesus is God’s son. He was miraculously born of a virgin, lived on the earth for 33 years, and never did anything wrong. He was crucified on a cross for our sins, but rose again three days later and then ascended to Heaven. He is now with God and He talks to Him on our behalf. This is why when we pray, we are able to talk to God directly instead of through a priest. Because Jesus rose again, we are able to have eternal life.
The free gift of eternal life is yours—you just have to accept it. Realize that Christ died and rose from the dead to pay the price for our sins. Tell God that you know you are a sinner. Ask him to forgive you for the wrong that you’ve done and accept His free gift of salvation and eternal life in Heaven.
If you prayed and meant it in your heart, Welcome Home! You are now part of the family of God! Please consider talking to someone about the decision you made. If you do not know of a local church where you can talk to another believer, feel free to reach out to our pastor. He would love to hear from you and welcome you to the family!
